1. Do not extend trekking poles past “stop” label on poles.
- Tighten all clear locking nuts so that the locking clamp latches tightly when locked, you want to apply some resistance to make sure clamp is tight.
- Set cork handle grips to a length between your hip bone and belly button when standing up straight. Positions might vary depending on arm length and what the user finds most comfortable. For mountain climbers/hikers on steep terrain, many prefer pole length at chest length for more leverage.
